I come across a pic on flickr that might interest some of you bus guys.It's the very last bus to leave the red bus station on Vicar lane (If you can call it a bus station lol) It's a rather sad picture of a solitary bus near midnight, It's a cold, looking night, and forlorn empty station, it's just about to depart for the last time on the 11.45 to Wetherby on the 31st March 1990.http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajax46/4304905220/ The 23.45 to Wetherby was further unique in that after leaving the bus station it was set down only for the whole journey.Spirited running was always the order of the day for the 23.45 last bus as quoted on the pic.

Always a faster and more comfortable ride up and down York Road on a 'red' bus but, if you manged to hit on a 'blue' East riding one - pure luxury!!! West Yorkshire policy was to govern the engines quite strictly and so, even with driver dislike of DX 82 at its worst, it is unlikely that the engine would be damaged in that way.I remember clearly my utter astonishment one day, when descending the central staircase at Vicar Lane, to see a freshly overhauled Lodekka loading on the nearest stand. Pinching myself to make sure that I wasn't "seeing things" I wondered why on earth it was registered 456 LHN - then I saw the fleet number DX 82 and the rear platform - the penny dropped and the rest, as they say, is history.

Could be a plan approaching LBA, and as it's a time exposure quite likely.

This classic snap obviously predates 1990, so we can rule out Chris Waddle's effort in the penalty shoot out against Germany in that year's World Cup.
