I come across a pic on flickr that might interest some of you bus guys. It's the very last bus to leave the red bus station on Vicar lane (If you can call it a bus station lol) It's a rather sad picture of a solitary bus near midnight, It's a cold, looking night, and forlorn empty station, it's just about to depart for the last time on the 11.45 to Wetherby on the 31st March 1990.http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajax46/4304905220/    The 23.45 to Wetherby was further unique in that after leaving the bus station it was set down only for the whole journey.Spirited running was always the order of the day for the 23.45 last bus as quoted on the pic.

Many a sprint between red and green bus stops where they had their own

[quotenick="trophy"] Riponian wrote: perhaps the fact that dx82 was unpopular and unreliable was not completely unrelated .iread a book about halifax transport ,their dennis lolines suffered broken valve gear which was caused by drivers unused to five speeds changing into fourth at speed and overreving the engine .maybe somthing similar was "accidently" happening to dx82. An interesting theory Riponian, but I don't think so actually. The five Halifax Dennis Lolines were extremely unusual in having semi automatic five speed gearboxes and so admittedly foolish driving could feasibly over- rev their engines. These five vehicles were sold to West Riding who were in serious trouble over the premature wholesale failure of the Wulfrunians.DX 82 however had the standard Bristol four speed plus overdrive manual gearbox. With these it was essential to come out of "fifth" gear at reasonable speed and return to fourth gear in tha main gearbox - bringing the bus to a standstill in "fifth" gear could jam the works good and proper. West Yorkshire policy was to govern the engines quite strictly and so, even with driver dislike of DX 82 at its worst, it is unlikely that the engine would be damaged in that way.I remember clearly my utter astonishment one day, when descending the central staircase at Vicar Lane, to see a freshly overhauled Lodekka loading on the nearest stand. Pinching myself to make sure that I wasn't "seeing things" I wondered why on earth it was registered 456 LHN - then I saw the fleet number DX 82 and the rear platform - the penny dropped and the rest, as they say, is history.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Could be a plan approaching LBA, and as it's a time exposure quite likely.
I like work. I can watch it for hours.

This classic snap obviously predates 1990, so we can rule out Chris Waddle's effort in the penalty shoot out against Germany in that year's World Cup.
