Thankfully I've only ever lived where there was an indoor toilet. I do though recall an auntie who lived in Armley and she had an outside toilet. Indoors or outside the pieces of newspaper were the usual thing! The luxury of shiny Izel medicated toilet paper was to be found in the toilets on railway carriages! I guess newspaper provided something to read while passing the time! I wonder if that's where the expression "time in lieu" started!

Unless it's been covered on another thread can anyone shed any light on the current situation regarding the relocation of the YP/YEP?I'd heard that the move to a site on Whitehall Road/Water Lane is imminent. The same source suggested that a couple of supermarket operators have expressed interest in the Wellington Street site.Does anyone know if any of this is remotely accurate?

Hi allI work there and I can confirm we are moving to Leeds 1 just up the canal. We are all very much looking forward to the new building.

There seems to be a lot of speculation and strong views regarding the future of the YP building. Perhaps I'll just wait and see what develops.

Makes you feel your age a bit to hear of its closure when you were there at the production of the first edition produced in that building. Even now I still think of it as the "New Building". Tempus Fugit.
