A relative worked there and bemoaned the last change of ownership though devolpments in technology hasn't helped.Last year I discovered a good quarterly sports magazine. Suddenly it stopped so I emailed them. The cost of print and distribution had multiplied so the've pulled it.Lots of stuff is now "downloadable as an app".I loath this idea. I thought print costs were going down, so competitive now that costs are lowering with the advent of new technology and cheaper ways of working

Aaarrgghhh those were the days lol having to go outside in all weathers, we used newspaper, couldn't afford izal loo roll. kids today wouldn't have survived our conditions.

Thankfully I've only ever lived where there was an indoor toilet. I do though recall an auntie who lived in Armley and she had an outside toilet. Indoors or outside the pieces of newspaper were the usual thing! The luxury of shiny Izel medicated toilet paper was to be found in the toilets on railway carriages! I guess newspaper provided something to read while passing the time! I wonder if that's where the expression "time in lieu" started!

Unless it's been covered on another thread can anyone shed any light on the current situation regarding the relocation of the YP/YEP?I'd heard that the move to a site on Whitehall Road/Water Lane is imminent. The same source suggested that a couple of supermarket operators have expressed interest in the Wellington Street site.Does anyone know if any of this is remotely accurate?

I think this would be your best place to look for info on the Y.E.P buildinghttp://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1535667Although there are 5 pages to get through.

There seems to be a lot of speculation and strong views regarding the future of the YP building. Perhaps I'll just wait and see what develops.
