any present day evidence of any train tracks at Crown Point area at all now?

Railways, trams, buses, etc.

Late 80's to early 90's I'd say, the train is a 2nd generation mulitiple unit that means it's not before 1987. Quarry House isn't on the skyline yet, that dates it before 1993.

phill are there any pics you know of showing the arches round that area face on?i'm particularly interested in the Cockpit bar (housed under arches) on swinegate just off your pic above. ever seen any?i used to go to gigs there alot and always wondered about it's past. never seen any pics anywhere of it's front entrance pre-Cockpit. the entrance is just under the swinegate bridge

ok 2 things that still be deceving my eyes after reviewing the posts/pics:1. On the left of this pic:http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... FULL...the 2 towers look quite far apart.Here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/manxphil/4 ... tream/they look almost parallel to each other.2. if this is (i assume) the same view:http://www.flickr.com/photos/thanoz/692 ... ream/...on top pic the lifting tower on right looks "face on" to the tracks whereas on the bottom pic the same tower looks side on just me?

Optical illusions and distances play tricks. Try look at yourself through two mirrors, I bet you look different to what you think you do from another angle

amazingly good if Central closed in 1967?when did they remove the viaduct near the surviving hoist do you know cos these are from 1981
