not trying to put a stop to things, but I think we have strayed away (as we often do) from the thread and I know we have one on pub names and their meaning somewhere which might be better?or start a new one on common pub names so that anyone looking in future and find the information quicker than on here?

Hi Steve. As someone that has posted messages in this thread that are not directly related to the topic of the longest name I do apologise. As there must however be only one longest name (or joint ones) that can likely easily be found though a Google search the thread would have been a very short one without some of us straying off. The very topic in my opinion was likely to lead to such straying in a friendly chatty sense that I think does add interest. Using the sites search function for Pub Names brought up 6 pages of links!I wonder what is the hardest name to say when people have had a few too many drinks?

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.
