Fair comment about referring it to the Georgian Society,however, in the light of the surveyors comments when the buildings were asessed for the application ,relating to structural instability due to joists being cut away etc. ;I would have thought any development would be better than it falling down partly ,which seemed to be a probability from the report!

Second link works.English Heritage are broadly in favour and make some good points.I was amused by the comments about the row currently being aesthetically pleasing.They obviously haven't been to look at the hideous paint job on the gable near the road or the amount of eyesores attached to the buildings in the alleyway!

I guess it depends how much "advertising" is likely to occur from this proposal. Perhaps we could stir things up with a chat to Phill's YEP contact again? If it becomes bigger news (developers versus Victorian Society, for example) then Dysons may look at it with fresh eyes?

Does anyone have [paid] access to the British Newspaper archive website?I ask because I've found two of the elusive original stories from the YEP, that were published much later than the Radestock article.The tantalising previews I am able to view are from Diary of a Yorkshireman on the dates:1: Wednesday 20th November 1935'... soldiers acre stationed in the Leeds area, and some were billeted the Crown and Fleece Inn which that time faced the Corn Exchange.
