There was another series of howlers on this morning's breakfast show about 7:20 AM."Alex Ferguson has retired as manager of Leeds United,""He's likely to be replaced by Chris Moyles,"And possibly the most bizarre of the lot"So it's all change at Belle Vue."Top research/awareness, BBC Leeds!

The amount of abominable bad manners and arrogance displayed by many of the presenters is utterly disgraceful. If I was a person of note, for example a senior councillor or a project manger or a Government minister, being "interviewed" I would halt the proceedings half way and, before leaving the studio with dignity, I would firmly but politely say to the "interviewer" something along the lines of :-YOU ARE A RADIO PRESENTER AND NOT A CROWN COURT JUDGE OR PROSECUTING COUNSEL - THEREFORE AS YOU HAVEN'T THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPIC OR THE MANNERS TO ALLOW ME TO COMPLETE A SENTENCE OF ANY REPLY BEFORE INTERRUPTING WITH A TONE SUGGESTING THAT I AM A LIAR OR A FOOL THIS "INTERVIEW" IS CEASED - GOOD MORNING !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Liz Green is terrible in that respect, although she's hardly alone. Far from being fair and unbiased, the presenters own views and prejudices are given far too much emphasis - a situation oft repeated across the BBC.And the frequent, shameful lack of even basic knowledge of the subject they are meant to be covering is unforgivable (take note Daragh Corcoran).
