I didn't think it would be possible to see them from here. It's very deceiving, the fact that Leeds just seems to stop at a dead end and turn to fields always gets me. Houses you think would take 10 minutes to walk to are actually in the Rothwell/Wakefield area.

Entertaining stuff everyone.Next stage then. What about a photograph of Leeds from the other direction?Easy enough to get to the top of Jubilee Tower on Castle Hill at the other side of Huddersfield. Only I don't even know if you could see over the top from there. One from the top of Holme Moss or the radio transmitters might be a bit more difficult. Easier to stand on near the top of with your box brownie would be the daddy of them all - Emley Moor.As Dr Harry Hill would say. 'What are the chances of that happening?'

Yes you can see it from Alwoodley and certainly from Shadwell, you don't even need to be on the top deck of the 36 either. Went for a walk up near the White Horse last weekend but it was a bit too misty. On a clear night you can also see another set of red lights on those moors - those of Bilsdale Mast. When they are nice and clear it's usually going to be a cold night to follow.
I like work. I can watch it for hours.

Hi whitecoatboy. When I am walking on the road (Owlet Lane ?) near to Eccup waterworks I look out for the White Horse. If I can see it then it is a clear day (if not then it is either not clear to far distance or my eyes are getting past it!).

I think I've mentioned this before too, but the white horse can be seen from Surprise View on Otley Chevin, and that's even further away!
