Big Wheel for Leeds

Does anyone recall the debarcle from a few years ago regarding a ferris wheel they had in Millenium Square? Well some resident of a block of 'apartments' nearby didnt like the fact that people riding on the big wheel could glance into his living room for a few seconds as the wheel passed by (thats if they werent looking elsewhere of course), as a result Leeds city council were 'forced' to board off that particular side of the ferris wheels cars so as not to have this mans peace disturbed! I mean surely he could have just pulled his curtains, adjusted his blinds etc?!?!? I can see a similar farce occuring here with the amount of inner city apartments down that end of Leeds, so with a bit of luck they will board up all the cars of this big wheel so you wont be able to see a thing.

Great photo Phill. This is a view I saved this afternoon from the Leeds Trinity project webcam. In addition to showing the Big Wheel when its erection was almost (or even fully) done I notice there are two people on the glass (?) roof. I hope it's strong glass!

It's only temporary anyway.Saturday 16th February till Sunday 21st April 2013More like a visiting funfair than a bonus long term attraction for the City.

That's quite surprising Phill - after all the Council hype many folks, including me, thought it was either very long term or virtually permanent.

We've seen how they blow their own trumpet, and make the planting of a tree sound like an amazing scoop for Leeds. So with that in mind, I really doubted it would be anything to make Leeds stand out from other Cities. So I checked...Oh ye of little faith I hear you cry, I wonder why says he The times the wheel be running in Leeds are herehttp://www.observationwheelleeds.co.uk/
