I've got great memories of looking forward to the Armley 'Feast' coming round every year up Armley Town Street, and amazing memories of The Loony Bin (how they have been changed).Does anybody remember the small 'forest' near the Ley streets in Armley? Used to go hunting through there all the time for random things, fun times.

On a side note what is it with people being born and growing up in Leeds and then moving to Australia? Always with the Australia, lol.

I would guess that most may have gone to Australia under the £10 (I think that was the amount) Assisted Passenger scheme in the early 1950's. This was to encourage people to emigrate to Australia. A family near where I used to live in east Leeds went under that scheme and subsequently settled well.
