Where was the photographer stood?

Hi Lee, that part of Sheepscar Street South was built in the late 1920's as you say.This is the 1893 map showing how it was, the beck still runs the same course today. You can see Muschamp Terrace/Clifton Street area is where Sheepscar St South runs today. This bridge was built in 1929.1929 construction.I think this road, is the same road here today?http://goo.gl/maps/wkkqy

Looks like map inconsistency Brunel. The Godfrey OS sheet shows more or less the the same street layout as your map link (without Scott Hall Road of course) but the road in question again labelled Sheepscar Street.I have also checked an early 70s A to Z with the same result.Just goes to show the truth of the old adage that just because it appears in print, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is true, and, of course, that we don't know which version is!

You know, I never noticed that 'Sheepscar' lettering on the corner of the building vanishing. Strange.

Sheepscar Street North runs alongside Scott Hall Road, not the actual same line. It is the road that runs outside the gasworks and comes to an end at Charles Stead Leatherworks

This is a photo that I took on January 7 2012 that shows the last bit of Sheepscar Street North that runs by the Charles Stead 'Steadsuede' works with Scott Hall Road on the right.Edit added January 27 2013. I had thought that the bit of road immediately in front of Steadsuede is what is left of Sheepscar Street North and that the main road to its right (as in the photo) is Scott Hall Road. From information in Brunel's post below (and some earlier posts by others) it is clear however that what I thought is Scott Hall Road there is Sheepscar Street North. It seems that Scott Hall Road starts at the junction with Buslingthorpe Lane coming out of Leeds.I my defence I've noticed that on some old maps the bit that I thought was what remains of Sheepscar Street North is called that, as well as the main road there that is also called Sheepscar Street North. No wonder I'm confused!
