Posted some pics last year of Mr Plod lining up vehicles passing down the Headrow and giving them expensive looking bits of paperInfuriating though as you suggest if you are one of those dutifully going round the approved way.

One of my MAJOR bug-bears. The police are not out often enough IMO to be getting these people. It just ruins it for the people that go down the correct way in Albion Street and up Upper Basinghall Street!

Sorry Lee, couldn't resist that one - but I agree with you too, as you know Apparently over 40 cars an hour go through bus lanes in Leeds. The council are looking at installing (unless they already have and that is what all this CCTV is for) cameras on the lanes so they can actually fine people for going down them. I'm not normally in favour of cameras but when these idiots make everyone else late by driving down the lanes and stopping legitimate cars and buses getting through I think it is worthwhile.

Speaking of police giving fines out to motorists, I got pulled last thursday as i dropped my eldest 2 children at school, my front wheel was just on the yellow zigzag, Yes i admittily was breaking the law of parking- Just!,and i straight away paid my fine, but on Wednesday night the school was over run with police, cars, vans, due to a fight apparently going to take place between the high schools, where the primary school is sandwhich inbetween. they were 3 cars on the yellow zigzags, either picking up school kids, or dropping someone off. Not ONE got pulled by the police and the area was swarming with them!.

I noticed on Tuesday that a sneaky temporary CCTV camera has been set up behind the bus shelter for the number 42 bus on Park Row trained on the bus lane . i nearly fell over the recorder box chained to it's pole!it is monitoring the traffic lane leading into City square.I assume it either watching traffic flow or is watching out for illegal users of the bus lanes.
Steve JonesI don't know everything, I just like to give that impression!
