I tried to get a good view over Leeds and tried Belle isle, Beeston Hilland woodhouse, but there's so much in the way. However near Limewood approach there's a road that curves around the hillside between north Parkway and the Ramsheads and there's a good view into Leeds.A very tall tower block as mentioned above and in a previous thread of mine stands tall somewhere behind the Merrion Centre. It's rooftop must be the highest place in the centre of Leeds by far. Hi parksider....i guess that'll be the Sky Plaza building on Clay Pit Lane,at 106m(348ft) the second tallest building in Leeds.I believe its use is to house students from the nearby university !

Correct. The tallest building is Bridgewater despite the Plaza having 6 more floors. However I suspect the top of Plaza is higher (above sea level) than Bridgewater given the botom certainly is.

I dont know about north, but I know you can see the Holme Moss transmitter looking to the south west from many parts of Leeds, the hills beyond there lie in the Derbyshire peak district. Where I live on the top floor of Clayton Court in West Park we can see extensive views to the north west including the wind farm above Haworth and beyond into the forest of Trawden in Lancashire. I remember the last time I was in the Yorkshire Dales, somewhere near Brimham Rocks being able to see the Holt Park transmitter tower, it gets difficult to see things north of Leeds as the hills block the views. I think someone has already mentioned, but on a clear day from Otley Chevin you can see the White Horse of Kilburn to the east which is on the side of Sutton Bank just north of York.I'd love to go for a trip up to the top of the Emley Moor mast on a clear day, I bet the views are stupendous, I wonder if you can see the sea on both the east and west coasts? I once went up a similar tower in Germany that had a revolving restaraunt in the top viewing gallery section and that was incredible for the views but I didnt know what I was looking at as the scenery and surroundings were so unfamilar.
