I like your 'battle(field)', which is a better cryptic clue than mine. As the site in question is partly on Meadow Lane my crypticness was that the meadow in Meadow Lane was the field! I wonder if there is such a word as 'crypticness'?

When I was entering my original post the word "crypticness" just came to my mind but when I was checking the post I did wonder if crypticness was a real word as it looked a bit odd. Ah, Michael Miles. That brings back a memory of long ago. To open the box or take the money. The 60 seconds in which not to say 'Yes' or 'No'. Simpler times.

Thanks Leodian, praise indeed from an old warrior, with the crypticity of a true scholar, I wonder if mead was 'maided' nearby in those days?I've just remembered where the creeping cat crept ....
