There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

The waitresses were not exactly young and perky, and in at least one case one of her appendages drooped into a blokes beer     Was it a Titley pub? Sorry for that crudeness. A mod can delete this if it is deemed unsuitable! An Aussie would pronounce it that way anyway, I was one in a Tetleys House and an Auusie said to the barman, pint a tits mate, in that Australian accent.
Is it me or has Leeds gone mad

Youre going a bit far now,lol..but whilst we`re here,wouldnt you also have to take the pressure in the room into account? :}

Where there's muck there's money. Where there's money there's a fiddle.

I think it must have been the Gaiety Bar. My initial thought was the Gaiety Bar, I must have confused the location. I only went in on a couple of occasions, the upper floor bar with DJ was a bit intimidating. The ground floor bar had the topless barmaids and didn't seem too busy must have been mid week.One of the topless barmaids I across a decade or so later. I was a supporter of the Leeds Cougars American Football team and she with her husband was a member of the supporters club also.The other place I remember featuring topless females - they were dancers - was the Bierkeller at the Merrion Centre. The dancers seem to be on each and every lunchtime.

Talk of the more bawdy establishments reminds me that DV8 seems to have gone. I've a few happy mamories of that place, though mainly because I found the seediness funny.

I think youre getting mixed up with "strippers" and "topless barmaids"..the Hofbrauhaus used to have strippers on at dinner times thru the week..ermm,just word of mouth :}

A band I played for in the 1970s were offered a one night a week residency at the Gaiety. On returning home from our first performance I was unwise enough to tell to my (since ex) wife about the topless waitresses. I was promptly advised that I wouldn't be going there again if I knew what was good for me.That was unkind...........wasn'tit?
