Think I guessed what, but where?

No clues on any old maps to what that outall was for, or where it came from. There was a Whitehall Mills on that spot, but no mill ponds, sluices, or where the water feed came from? No idea.

The river was [is] very fast flowing for a dry spell though so presumably there's plenty of water draining further upstream. That's what makes me think it's either a diversion of the river or the drain for the dry dock. I'm still sticking with my original theory though as the canal is flowing over the locks so I can well believe it has enough water to flow through the dry docks and out into the river -- where else would it go?
