I think it's the drain for the dry docs in Granary Wharf. Oh right, I thought it had to be there, thanks for updating the answer

I have a more zoomed out picture with a bit more details but I'm having problems finding a browser that will let me upload images, and the Google Earth view is old but I'll try to explain. If you walk over the new bridge that you see at the end of Little Neville Street here:http://goo.gl/maps/NVXjJYou see it on the left hand side as you cross the bridge. As far as I could see it is an outlet for water allowed to drain out of the two dry docks on Granary Wharf.

The other picture isn't as clear as I liked, think my photography skills need some work, but hopefully it will be attached to this. Well, you wouldn't believe how much faffing about that took and probably not worth it.Think I'll have to find something like Flikr to use in future as the uploader will not work for my systems.

Think that outfall has been mentioned on Secret Leeds before somewhere, I think Chameleon seemed to know something about it, or at least he mentioned it. Talking of Chameleon, Where is he these days? Not seen him on here for an age, hope everything is ok?

Thanks BarFly for this thread on the outflow. Being near the area earlier today I had a quick diversion to look at it. I am not aware of ever noticing it before and it is very intertesting. It was carrying a reasonable flow and in view of the recent warm dry spell it would seem unlikely that it is just a surface water runoff drain, so what it is draining is intriguing. Immediately to its left (looking from the bridge) there are some steps leading to the water channel that presumably at least at one time provided access to and from the channel.
