City of Leeds Police Telephone Box / Call Point

Am I imagining it or did there used to be a police box of some sort on Horsforth Town Street? I'm struggling to recall where I think it was though as this would be going back 30 years.

The first one of these boxes I ever saw as a child was on Harehills Lane alongside Compton Road Library. Here it is on Leodis, but not close enough to see any details.http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... SPLAY=FULL

There was a police call box on Beckett St junction with Ithink Arthur St.I don't think it was a full size tardis like thing and itwas set back into the wall clear of the pavement,the bbeing part of the House of Recovery.Current streetview(hopefully)http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=leeds&h ... m&t=h&z=19

Although it was a long time ago I distinctly remember a very simple wooden desk and chair and in addition to a large bakelite phone it was equipped with a hotplate and a kettle. I suspect that the purpose of the police ( tardis) boxes was as much about allowing the PC on the beat somewhere to have a break and a brew as well as remaining in contact with HQ in the days before personal radios.
