Hi, I'm going on a date soon and wondered if anyone has any ideas for any nice places to go in Leeds or Yorkshire. I don't know many places that do the usual candelit dinner so would love to hear some recommendations. Also any places generally that would be nice to take a date (ideally not a romantic stroll in Harehills or Chapeltown, as lovely as these places are!). I have thought of a few but running out of ideas even though there must be some lovely places right on my doorstep!

You smoothyI wouldn't fancy town centre for that sort of schmoose, if I were ever to go courting again with Mrs J my two joint 1st would be 1. Divinos (near Lawnswood Arms)2. Korks Wine Bar Otley (cheeky pint beforehand in the junction)    Little known fact:- the owner/manager of Korks looks a bit like M. Hulot

Do these places happend to have the usual candelit dinner do you know? Korks would also be good as can then go for a drive (although judging by the weather might have to cut that out!)

Brasserie Blanc, relaxed with candles, French Bistro food, not pretentious twaddle, three course and a glass of wine under £20. If it's warm enough you can sit outside.

Sovereign Street so you get an old mill across from the site of an old tram shed/concert venue, the kings mill goit and the dark arches. Smashing.http://www.brasserieblanc.com/locations/leeds.php

Admittedly it does look nice, I am now tied between Brasserie Blanc and Divinos. Will probably end up being Divinos.
