The station was disposed of years ago.Doubt whether Landlord or Tenants would care much and my guess is it was trashed during shopfitting? Yes, it was at the top of the stairs down to the buses, on the wall imediately to the right. Hopefully it remains under what was timber covering last time I looked. I'm not so sure. I passed this at lunchtime today and the timber covering is where the wall turns diagonally round the corner towards the stairs. I'm sure I remember the North Bar stone a bit further north, actually on Vicar Lane next to a newsagent (in the early 1970s), rather than on the diagonal corner. I might be wrong, as the covering is the right size and distance from the pavement.Since the East Bar and Burley Bar are still in existence and visible (albeit one in the Building Society), I would hope that if the North Bar is behind that wood, it is rescued by the Council for display in the museum as it is an important part of Leeds history.

I noticed this old sign when I was using Google Street View. The sign seems like it may be the remains of a 'Yorkshire Evening News' newspaper advert and if so it will be quite old. Apologies if this has already been mentioned in this long thread. This link should bring up the Google view. The 'broken' chimney on the left is presumably not actually how it looks in that view! http://tinyurl.com/7l4rr5r

Found this yesterday on St Michaels Lane, Headingley opposite the Cricket Ground.

Although it's nice to see the old signage again, it's very sad to see this once fine pub in such a sorry condition. I've probably visited this pub more than any other over the years. It was our works lunchtime local (in the days when a pub lunch was the norm!) Current update:- Much work has been carried out. All but one of the rear outbuildings have been demolished, along with the chimneys and their stacks. The interior has been gutted back to the brickwork, and the interior partitions removed Also gone is the west side signage above the ground floor windows. The front similar signage remains, as does the fine picture in the first and second floor centre "arch". All but one of the windows has been replaced with double-glazed PVC, but an effort has been made to retain the multi-paned effect, and I think is probably as good as one could hope for in the circumstances. The remaining unchanged window (west side, ground floor) is probably a none-standard size, and will probably be changed in the future.Surprisingly, both the front and side entrances have been blocked up and windows fitted. As this leaves only a single (rear) entrance I will be interested to see how the developers are going to meet fire and H&S requirements. The roof has been repaired - as the lead had gone it was seriously in need of it.Work continues on the interior fit-out, and I will keep my eyes open for what transpires in the future
