Unfortunately they'd finished by the time I got there (I was gigging elsewhere) but I got to chat with Mark and Tim. Later - I think it's Slax not Slacks. Certainly gets more hits on google.

I've often mentioned the list of Leeds gigs I went to in the late 70's to early 80's.At the risk of boring you all, I've finally got round to the job I've been meaning to do for 30 years, which is to type up the original hand-written sheets. So here (attached, if it works) is my list; the bands and places on it may bring back a few forgotten nights out for those of you who are interested.Bruno
The older I get, the better I was.

My first taste of Leeds bands was in the Winter of 1961 at Armley Swimming Pool. Does anyone remember they used to cover the swimming pool with a dance floor as they did not get too many swimmers in those Winters lol. It was open on a Saturday night and it was a thrill for me being allowed to go to a dance as long as Iwas home for 9.30 laugh. We had a dance whilst the groups played. There were some really good ones but alas time has slipped by and what the names of the groups were I have no idea with all the mist that has passed.I do remember one group who used to do alot of the Shadows tunes and especially Apache which was a favourite of most.Someone might be able to remember what I am talking about.
On Ilkla Moor ba'tat!!!
