Looks like the enhanced view has gone - pinched from another website "Rang them up, they have taken it off, apparently a permanent thing. Had a moan about the lack of detail now, and the fact that I cannot see what I want to buy - "will pass it on to my colleague"Guess there were too many people getting big maps and not ending up paying for them - but can't really see how this improves their business model, as surely no one will buy a "relatively" expensive map without the chance to see if properly beforehand.Hope they change their stance, otherwise a really useful resource is much less effective in my view.....

From memory I believe that the access ramp from Gelderd Road was "long" with a flat section part way up. There were also ramped entrances from Talavera Street, but they had 180 degree turns and were therefore less likely to be suitable.for vehicular access!It's a long time ago, and I am open to correction.

Like I've said Pablo I think you really need to get to grips with the map, it answers all the questions perfectly. It is a little slow, but with patience it works fine. I have no bother with it at all.By answering your question I've learned a few things myself, I'd never have know about these things if I hadn't looked at the maps. And that's the beauty of it all, you find really interesting things on the map, you get off out there and take a look yourself behind the trees and overgrown bushes. Those long lost places are like time warps just waiting to be found and explored. So with research and map study you find lots of things, not using maps you find and learn nothing at all. The 1850 map shows the 'long access tunnel' before it became the long access tunnel. I never knew that access was wide enough for a car, and more interesting to see is it connected to the subway entrance below in days gone by, that's a new one on me. I shall have to look if there is any evidence of a blocked off passage/tunnel in that subway now.EDIT.. Looking at the photo below I can see what appears to be the top of some brick or stonework poking out of the earth, it's on the right of the subway above. Most likely it's the long since forgotten passage last seen around 1900, and that's why the new brick portal and angled retaining wall exists when it was blocked off.I've always questioned that brick portal to the stone subway, at a later date it's been altered. It will be interesting to see if there is any evidence of the old connecting passage inside. Looking at the 1908 map below it appears to show the subway/access tunnel has changed. To my eye it looks wider, and the access from this subway has possibly gone?And the 1908 map clearly shows why the access passage became a tunnel. The station expanded over the top of it and covered it in. I don't think it was a proper tunnel as such.
