After spending a fortune in bus fares on the 91 and going through a couple of pairs of good walking boots, I can safely say that the photograph was taken up Roxholme Grove, off Harehills Lane.

Phill_dvsn wrote: Of course knowledgeable busmen like Blakey won't need that kind of help Oh Phill - actually I was still working on the puzzle when the answer appeared, and now a shiver has passed through me I was one of the first victims of the impossible conversion of service 91 (44 in those days) to one man operation on April 5th 1970. The extra running time allowed was two minutes from Halton Moor to Stanningley - totally impossible - and in those days nearly every passenger paid cash and there were "multi journey" tickets to sell on board as well. So, as you can imagine, we had little time to study the suburban delights of the "Roxholmes."
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

North East Leeds really because the transmitter is south west.Nice clue from Phill with the 91 bus which I am not familiar with. Had a look at the timetable on the 'Worst' website but the 'underground' map of the route helped.Needed some point of elevation on that route and I have played football in the past at Bracken Edge. Went on Street View on Harehills Lane near where you would turn up to Yorkshire Amateurs and just got lucky.
