Yes I remember doing that too in the early 70's as a lad. They used to go off and stink after a while I seem to remember

My sister and I always had a chocolate button egg from mam and dad. You can keep your posh choc, Cadburys is the best.At school we used to decorate hard boiled eggs but mine never won the prize My neighbour years ago who was Ukranian said that they too would decorate eggs. She made me a beautiful hand painted wooden egg which I still have 30 years later.Does anyone remember you could buy 6 white chocolate eggs in a see through plastic egg box? Haven't seen them for years.Happy Easter to all and have a good restful weekend. You're so lucky to have snow. Haven't seen snow for some years now. We just get a mm of sleet at the most here but it's enough to stop public transport. Pathetic. Lol.

Sometimes we'd blow eggs by making a pin hole in either end so there was no waste, then decorate them. One of my relatives once put a blown egg in an egg cup at the breakfast table and offered me it as it was spare, he cracked up when I took the top off to reveal nothing. Happy days.
Is it me or has Leeds gone mad

HiI also used to love decorating a hard boiled egg for school. If you did the best you would win a real chocolate egg from the teacher. I never won it. I always thought mine looked just as good as the winner. I think it was the teachers pet who won, and that certainly wasnt me. My penfriend from the USA has just gone back taking some Cadburys flake eggs as seemingly they only get Bunnies over there. They also dont go for custard like we do, so will have to educate them when I go over next year.Love to talk about Easter eggs as I used to get about 3 or 4 given from parents, grandparents etc. I was so overwhelmed with all of that chocolate I used to savour it by eating small amounts at a time. In fact, my prize to myself was to keep one at least until Whitsuntide, 8 weeks later. Then to my dismay, my younger sister who was a very greedy child, used to want some of my egg I had saved. This made me very annoyed as she used to eat her 3 or 4 in two days and came out in nettle rash from all the sugar she consumed. I had to give her some of my egg at Whitsuntide and wait for the rash to come out. WAS I cruel or is that justice for greedy people laugh.I love this moan and thanks for putting this thread on so I can relive my trauma at Easter laugh.

Daft I call it - What's for tea Ma?
