Venus, Jupiter and Mars are very obvious just now.

Ignore the little spot next to the Moon as it's a reflection on the window...http://tinyurl.com/d53rbon That's a good photo Mork of Ork. It also wells shows the colourful sunsets that there have been recently (I'm rarely up in time to see sunrises at this time of year!). Weather permitting (there are some wispy to thin clouds around just now) it should still be a gorgeous sight tonight, though the Moon will have noticeably moved further to the left of Venus and Jupiter. The Moon is also increasingly looking larger each day as it is in its waxing period as it gets to being a Full Moon.

Anytime from even when it is just dusky will be OK up to 9 pmish but, depending on someone's viewpoint, that may be too low by 10 pmish to see Jupiter. When I have recently been out shortly after 8 30 pm watching the recent planet scenes there have been some birds chattering to others and a few (or ? bats) flying around.

Not many evenings of viewing this event left now - Jupiter is getting lower and lower with each orbit and as it has to be almost completely dark to see it and the nights are getting longer it wont be visible for many more nights. Venus on the other hand will be visible for another couple of weeks, weather permitting of course, Mars is still visible though if you know where your looking.
