Hi Jogon,I have an old Austick's 'Tellway' book and it shows Kirkgate from 2 Marsh Lane to 126 Briggate. It also states that the post codes on Kirkgate were 7 to 21 and 107 to 136 were Leeds 1, and 23 to 24 and 70 to 106 were Leeds 2.Marsh Lane, St Peter's Street and Quarry Hill Flats were all Leeds 9, so there can't have been much of Kirkgate that was in Leeds 2. Strangely enough, my first job was in Clarendon Road, which was also in Leeds 2. The 'Tellway shows that Merrion Street was partly in Leeds 1, and partly in Leeds 2.It makes you wonder how, and when, the postal districts were conceived in the first place, and the rationale behind their original area boundaries (perhaps worthy of another thread without hijacking this one).Ian
