As it does not seem to have been posted in this thread I thought this map from the Old-Maps UK 1891 1:500 map may be of interest. It shows the course of a 'Mill Goit'.I like the 'Old Parrot Hotel' name nearby on what seems to be the junction now of Call Lane and The Calls.

Also be useful to get authorised access with proper lighting a decent photographer (are you there?) to go under the arches east of Neville St & photo the built over stone bridges that carried the goit under the 'new' railway structure.It all seemed to get filled in circa 1906? - two triggers perhaps1- LCC buying out the Manorial rights of King's Mills (the land then coming up for grabs).2- Swinegate improvement and demo of the mills/building of the tramsheds over them.Anyone able to chivvy out any civic docs about planning / minutes of the plan to remove & fill them in?
