When the road was being altered (pelican crossing and yet more speed bumps provided!!) either last year or the year before on Belle Isle Road where it's met by West Grange Drive/East Grange Drive (outside the sorting office) I remember some tram tracks being exposed. Covered over now though.

There were exposed tramlines (early 1960's) in what is now 'Oakwood Car Park' to the rear of the clock.Where Princes Avenue used to sweep straight down into Roundhay Rdhttp://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?resourceIde ... LAY=FULLNo problem for cars or pedestrians but bad news if your bike wheel went into one.

Agreed - I'm sure that's where it is.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

On my way home tonight saw this exposed tramline outside the old Junction pub on Dewsbury Road, wish they'dve dug a little more up to expose the points from the Moor Road line. Anyway, I cant get down during daylight hours unless its still there on Saturday but I doubt it by the disruption caused, Hunslet Hall Road is sealed off and Dewsbury Road is down to one lane. If any of you, and I'm only talking to those of you that are as daft as me, are passing by in daylight hours, please try and get a better pic than me.
