Back in 1963 me dad bought a monkey from a pet shop in Bradford. We called it Peppi and kept it in a cage in the living room of the back to back we lived in, for a short while I was the most popular kid in the North Wests in Woodhouse, all the kids in the neighbourhood used to call for me just so they coulld see Peppi. We only had it a couple of months because it went absolutely haywire one night and smashed all me mams ornaments and attacked the budgie in it's cage. It took about 3 hours to catch it, it could run round the walls!!!!! Any way, me mam made me dad get rid and he sold it to the arcade pet shop. He took me down many times to see him. We would also watch the clock at the same time. Oh happy memories.
The longer we live the older we get

Look forward to seeing the "..obsequious Indian..".Or could it be that political correctness has put a spanner in the works of that once-fine clock?

Ta love.I've only just noticed as I came down Merrion St that the Grand Arcade Building is sort of double fronted on New B'gte and says Grand Arcade above the, err Grand Arcade and also above the left hand arch which will always be Mr Craigs to me.Same on Vicar La. Google streetview still has Richer Sounds bottom right (though I think of it as the YHA shop). My memory was wrong about Newmans men's hairdressers being in there, they seem to be next along outa town just over Merrion St.
