Three cheers for our very own electronic local encyclopaedia and social society. Here's wishing all contributors the best of everything for a Very Merry Christmas and Contentment in a Happy New Year for 2012
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Ha ha! I dont like mince pies, or xmas pudding or xmas cake (my grandparents used to eat it with cheese!!! - dirty old buggers!)I do like pork pies if they come fresh from Weegmans in Otley while the pastry is still warm and the jelly is runny. I dont like them rotten pork pies where the pastry is rock hard and thick with lard and the jelly is like chewing on salty rubber.Anyway Merry Xmas!
