Will we ever be able to post pictures for all to see like we use to be able to?For me that is a big minus on the site- and the reason I am far less active than I used to be
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

The fix left a strange result that after finalising the upload, an error message is received. This appears to be related only to the response we were used to then seeing; pressing the back button on your broswer and then refresh will actually show that an image is uploaded but it is not directly displayed but, presents as the now familiar square and red cross. Clicking this reveals the image.Any other difficulty is almost certainly because of the site's apparent preference for if not insistance upon the use of Windows Explorer which has always been the case - and seems unlikely to be resolved.Another work round is to embed the image url where it is externaly hosted - two draw-backs though -When 'quoting' for a reply, the hungry file size eats up a lot of space and slows things down because the picture is also repeated unless the url is deleted from the reply before posting and,Links to large picture files send the message way over the screen requiring constant scrolling back and forth! At least we still have the site

Suddenly, with the blink of an eye, we have passed the 7,000th registration to the site. 5 years and still attracting new people, even if not all choose to post a message

Hi. I came across SL by chance and glad I did. I've been reading up on contributions and it's soooo very interesting/educational. I really can't get over how folk know so much about Leeds and after living South for a long time it is so good to read some Yorkshire banter also.I joined only the other day tho don't think I can contribute much but I just want to be part of this great site. Thanks to you all for the bloomin good history lessons )
