Nice photos phil,I pass the pub everyday(or I did until it burnt down)Never noticed the steps on the side before,looks like they must have been a fire escape for the tenants.

Thanks, those photos are off the internet though, not my own shots. Apparently the pub was smaller in the old days, the part with the steps was actually living accommodation in days gone by. The top of the pub is a funny design as well, It's high enough for three floors, but only has enough windows for two floors.
