I've been stood at my bedroom window in Bramley looking towards the city centre for 30 mins & not a peep.I better not have missed it when I popped for my binoculars! Not on your own Mork - I was in a hurry but managed to find a good vantage point on the wooded site above Armley Museum which would have given a good distance view I think - anyway "c'est la vie" as they say. The finest view I ever had was at Elvington some years ago - I arrived on my motorbike at teatime and just parked in a country lane outside the perimeter - the Lancaster came round several times to turn at the end of airfield fly pasts and was so low you could almost speak to the crew - a great experience.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Open to the public from 11, parade at 1300 hours.None of the above is reliant on weather or engines working! Thanks munkie for the information as to why the fly past did not happen. I was at the Town Hall but gave up at 14:50. Mind you there were a lot of amusingly dressed people on the steps from what must have been a wedding ceremony and/or reception. That looked like it must have been good fun.
