Cheers Si - I think they must be something to do with the Headrow Centre that was...I might call them and ask maybe!Trouble is that I don't remember them being there years ago but thought they may have something to do with the statue of the man selling balloons to the children in the Headrow Centre. What happened to the statue too, wonder where it went?

No not at all....It's at the bottom of King Charles Street, just before you would make a right to go into the passageway that brings you out onto Albion Street...

A quick Google found a press release at http://www.thinkingspacenorth.org/media ... elease.pdf which says "Artist House is the Leeds based studio and show space of Bryan Davies and Laura Quarmby. Established in 2003 they makepublic art commissions and visual artwork projects ranging form publications to furniture. Many of their projects take place atArtist House in Leeds, but recent works have been exhibited in Cornerhouse Manchester, at Leeds City Art Gallery, and the 51stVenice Biennale. Recent Commissions include Culture Company new media commission, a public art work commission for thenew Electric Press building and civic theatre, & a commission for public art work for King Charles Street, Leeds."Their website at http://www.bryanandlauradavies.com/biography mentions art work on King Charles St but dates it at 2007. Given the long delays in renovating the Headrow centre it could have been they were commissioned in 2005 but didn't get laid until a couple of years later.

I had a walk down there this afternoon. A branch of Specsavers is still adjacent to the tiles/plaques. No 1 is a loudhailer. No 4 is a cup and saucer. No 5 appears to depict some sort of "art" pot on a plinth, and the photo posted above shows it upside-down. A sixth example is of a ladies "strappy" shoe.
