Hi all would anyone know if i can get hold of the 1939 electoral register for Leeds please? ive tried googling, but it just says edited 2006 ..... and so on.im trying to find the whearabouts of Lily Peaker nee Morton, my gt grandmother, who sometime during 1908 and 1911 left the family home, we was always told by nana that her parents died young, turned out that her father went in to the workhouse in 1913, and her elder sister Elsie was a British home child( we always told she was a GI bride?) we dont know what happend to Nana and her other sister Beatrice. ( her brother Charles died during WWI ). I found Lilly Peaker death and have got the certificate and it says address as 2 Neville Row, widow of James Arthur Peaker, Painter and Decorator. So i know it is the correct person. Lily died 22 Feb 1941 Ive looked in all the usuall places, West Yorkshire Asylum etc but nothing. any help would be greatly appriciated on how to obtain the 1939 electoral register Weenie

I know it has Census records and I would guess that it has local Electoral Registers. I've always found the staff there to be very helpful.

Thankyou all for your help, it does look like the library is the best place, it was the reply i got from West Yorkshire Archives that said with the death cert been 1941 have i checked the 1939 Leeds electoral register, with her been at 2 Neville Row. I thought it may be online or on CD like the Leeds burial Cd etc. I just dont know how someone can dissapear from 1908 till 1941 ????If i ring up the library do you think they will look on my behalf? Thankyou again Weenie
