Hi All,I seem to remember a couple of years ago there was a thread about a Leeds Tram Destination blind up fo sale on Ebay (can't find thread now)Anyway just noticed theres another one up for sale (or maybe the same one) if anyones interested.Link here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEEDS-CITY-TRAMWA ... 52634a3One thing baffled me about it - one ofthe destinations was Gipton Estate - surely there were never trams running round the estate were there? Before my time I know but just sounds weird.

Indeed there was a tram service to "Gipton Estate" - it left York Road by the Fire Station and descended Gipton Approach (nicknamed "Gipton Gulch") to terminate at Wykebeck Valley Road. The original intention was to extend it on reserved track to Seacroft, hence the wide centre grass areas in South Parkway (later filled with housing), but this never came to be - possibly the activities of a little moustached Austrian painter had something to do with it.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
