Wheatfields

I have visited Wheatfields Hospice several times recently and was extremely impressed at how fine a house it was. I assume it was built for a Victorian industrial magnate but I was wondering if anyone knew who? It is on Leodis as Wheatfields Lodge but doesn't say who owned it.

It is on Leodis as Wheatfields Lodge but doesn't say who owned it. the first house named wheatfield lodge was built in 1859 for isaac israel and family wool importers.joseph nicholson of the south leeds chemical company bought the house in 1884 and began to extend it to much the shape it is today.

Thank you for that information. Thousands of sheep around these parts and he was a wool importer.......a sign of things to come!
