BBC3 tonight, Saturday, a live broadcast of a play from Kirkstall Abbey is on BBC3 at 20:00.

Gave it up as a bad job after half an hour, biggest load of tripe I've seen in a long time!

I was in the audience with a small group of friends. The atmosphere was good and we had a memorable night.

Was it as bad as that Symphony for Yorkshire ? I am cringing just thinking about that one !

Lilysmum, you lasted 10 minutes longer than me! The setting and lighting were beautiful, but I found the acting stilted (and the singing pretty awful) and couldn't watch any more out of embarassment!Dalehelms, I'd be interested to know if you could see anything other than the stage and the screen. Apart from the party atmosphere, was there any other benefit to being there in person as opposed to seeing it on TV? From what I could see, the stage seemed to obscure the Abbey itself, which I think is a shame, but perhaps I missed something by not watching to the end.

I agree, and my expectations were probably higher than normal because it was broadcast live from a place I know well. I might revisit it on iPlayer this week and just enjoy the night-lighting of the Abbey without focusing too much on the acting!

I went afer doing one of the workshops, but in the end got blocked in the right side crowd so when they asked for all 'workshop people' to be near the front I had a chuckle.Enjoyed it though and would have regretted not going I think.Only bad point was being told to get there before 1630, then having to hang around for 3 1/2 hours.....
