that was my local from leaving school,i think its a travesty.ken harrison had that pub for years and he would let no rubbish in there.there were only 3 fights in 20 odd years he had it and 2 of them were me!its a disgrace that it is to be turned into ANYTHING else.if i could swear on here i'd learn you all what swearing really is.closing the fairway?........PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!
i do believe, induced by potent circumstances, that thou art' mine enemy?

"There were only 3 fights in 20 odd years he had it and 2 of them were me!"The third must have been the one I saw 2 years ago from the balcony in Gipton Gate.....2 women in the middle of a circle of cheering men battering the HELL out of each other. They were like two long haired Ice Hockey players literally trading punch for punch to the face. I've never seen anything like it in my life!

I drove past twice today, last time just after 4pm andthey were still working.Don't know anything about demolition but rather than anout and out assault they just seemed to be picking out frontand centre with the giant 'nibbler'Is this just a crude way of remodelling,if so itseems a bit iffy.

I think this may be an example of recycling. With landfill taxes as they are for commercial operations a slow demolition can result in a lot of recycling even if it is just for hard core. This may result in greater labour cost but offsett by less other costs. The not too recently demolished A -Block at Leeds Met achieved a recycle rate of over 75% if memory serves me correctly.
