He obviously saw this thread.I think once there gone, there gone. I doubt Google can archive it now      To say im upset is an understatement. If this is a direct result of whats gone on on here then i can only apologise to the man on behalf of the site. This really is a dark day for this site and to tell you the truth the way its been going the past few months im afraid i dont really want to be a part of it any-more.Phil i also apologise to you for any flak you may get down to this mate. No apologies to me needed Brandy. I just felt it was the honourable thing to speak out for the guy. I felt guilty for linking to his material, it wouldn't have happened if i'd not have done that. But i'm not quite sure how such an innocent thing in the spirit of what S.L is about could have got to that. And don't you dare think about quitting S.L mate. Your humour and jokes would be badly missed      What I have seen of comments about this set, they seem largely to attempt to estsablish more information about the pictures; I didn't think there was anything terribley untoward directed at the chap. His flickr stream was open to public view Phil so have no doubts about the service you offfered of bringing them to light - posting a link does not have consequences for copyright and qwe all know you would always credit work of others.Brandy mate, have a large one and take a deep breath, you know things will quieten in time and the team needs to keep a head up to help that alongI am surprised the set has been removed from public gaze, perhaps the holder was expecting more of an acolade - though I think he certainly did get that for his efforts, perhaps he may even have come 'unstuck' himself by being seen to have posted them afterall, the original percetion was that these were his own works.I recognise quite a number from Leodis and just as a point of interest, Clifford Stead seems to be a member of our New Leodis flickr group! For now. Just looked at the picture mentioned above of the youngster next to a bus, jogged a memory cell or two, There was a Clifford Stead at school, tall young man, blonde/white hair and wore glasses. Just wondering if this could be he.

lets not be hasty or jump to conclusions. we dont know why the photos were taken down. it might be absolutely nothing to do with SecretLeeds.
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

I loved the pics, brought back many happy memories but having re-read the thread, can't see anything that was that offensive. A few challenging questions yes, but nothing to take a bat and ball home for and far less agressive than some threads.I agree with Phil, try not to post unless i have a question or info i think people would be interested in and from what i read on a dialy basis, everyone else seems to follow.I work away most weeks and this site keeps me in contact with home.

I saw the photos and thought they were fantastic. . .came back to have another look and they were gone.Reading the back posts its not hard to see why he has removed them. What is wrong with Secret Leeds these days? Every thread there is always some commotion, some posters actually told that they are no longer welcome is not good, imagine if we all worked in the same office ? Some people just have no respect or manners towards others but still I always come to this site because of the fabulous contributions by some great posters who obviously spend a lot of time researching. Anyway. . . hope that you all have a lovely christmas and a Happy New Year too.

Hear Hear. i've learnt so much about a city i was born in and have lived in most of my life. I thought i knew a lot about it but realise there is so much more to learn. On balance, there is nothing wrong with lively debate as long as it's not personal.

When you see the list search for "flickr" and you should see a local link to the files. Like I said I managed to get 29 this way and save them to my hard disk, I reckon between us we could get the whole set. Anthonydna... please can you e-mail me the pics you have saved in your cache? I would love to see them and am upset I never got the chance. MY E-mail is as in my profile. I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Just back from a couple of days away and catching up on here before switching off for christmas. It is sad that the pix have gone and I hope no one really thinks it was anything that was said on here that caused the removal. What I did say on his comments was what I posted on page 1. Clifford blocked me for that even though he does say he welcomes feedback to correct any mistakes. I have apologised to him through my missus flickr page and he has now blocked her page. So he must have some gripe with me that I know nothing about. Also I suspect the pix were removed because he copyrighted someone else's material. Flickr are keen on that. He should put the pix back on uncopyrighted or donate them to Leodis. I have apologised to him if I upset him in any way, which I don't see how, and he has sort of refused it. I am saying nothing else on the matter.Merry Christmas.
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

Anyway. . . hope that you all have a lovely christmas and a Happy New Year too. I think thats a little over the top, there is not commotion on every thread and the only person who was told they were not welcome had made derogatory, threatening and insulting remarks. If people wish that sort of behaviour to be allowed to pervade this site without being challenged then it will fall into a permanantly sad state.I didnt see the pics, which is a shame, and neither did i see the comments on Flickr, only what i seee on here. This cahp has every right to delete messages/pictures from his Photostream,BUT,if he actually is a member of The Leeds Civic Trust, and he has the aspirations he states then i would have thought a sense of civic duty, albeit in a non professional sense, should over ride any percieved negative comments. It seem such a shame, but i hope Clifford (if heas done so for the stated reasons) will rethink his position and realise that the Civic Trust have a responsibilty to everyone in Leeds, not just the members.
