Stutterdog - missing buttons means you are seeing the site as a 'read only' viewer, once eyou log-in to Secret Leeds from the home page screen, registered members get their buttons, as you have now. When you have to log-in, do you tick the little 'keep me logged in' box? I presume you do. Even if you switch off your computer, upon switching on, you should be logged in automatically because your machine saves your settings and applies them agin when you come back. The two usual reason for this not happening are if your machine crashes and you restart without being able to close down normally - so settings aren't saved or, if your browser (Internet explorer?) has had its setings changed to delete temporary filesa and cookies when shutting down - or if you delete these as a housekeeping jobee to tidy up.The only other time seems to be after a major server/software fault but tht hasn't happened for some time now Think I've got all that right, but then a swift kick often works wonders (if my little boy isn't around to fix it any roads) Hope that helps.

Back to the thread subject, charged parking hours were fairly recently extended to 7pm during the week, from the previous 6pm meaning that the council get an extra hours revenue in the evening. It's the first I've heard of the parking attendants working so late on a weekend though - still, don't park where you shouldn't and you won't get a ticket. To be honest, the handful of parking attendants I've spoken to seem fairly reasonable and will give you the option of moving on if you're actually sat waiting in the car. What does get my goat though is the three or four of them constantly circling around the business district (York Place, Park Place, Park Square, etc) between 5-6pm looking for people who've gone a few minutes over their allotted time, whilst yards away on Quebec Street the same people park up illegally night after night causing congestion on the Loop so whoever they're picking up / dropping off don't have to walk a few yards...

A favourite Davey is Central Road behing House of Fraser. Between 11.00am and 4.00pm it's available to blue badge holders, at all other times it is no parking for anyone - loading only and I've seen badge holders being moved on for being ten minutes early but in the evening, you didn't used to be able to walk through there for cars parked whilst their owners 'loaded' in the nearest hostelry! As you suggest Davey, if people respected the rules, they wouldn't suffer (that'll start a war if our old Feverate member is looking in)

I am also puzzled by another strange happening swhich maybe you could explain? Yesterday, whilst looking for the thread, Famous sons, I noticed that the quote prompt had disappeared from the pages which meant of course thatI couldn't post any comments to any threads, so decided not to bother. It then reappeared some time later and I was then able to post the above comment. I noticed today again when I wanted to post a reply to your explanation, the quote prompt was not there so in order to post this I have had to log on again even though I've not logged off at any time. Hope you can understand this and perhaps explain wht this happens? If you are not logged in the "Quote" command does not appear. Logging in is necessary to be able to authenticate posters and in order to annotate posts with the authors nickname. At the moment there appears to be something wrong with the part of the software that keeps track of who is logged in and remembers this between sessions (it keeps forgetting).Just at the moment it seems I have to log in manually at the start of every session which is a real pain.
We wanted to make Leeds a better place for the future - but we're losing it. The tide is going out beneath our feet.

Hopefully not staing the obvious Bramley, can I just confirm you are 'ticking the remember me box when logging in'?If yes and if anyone else is having a problem put yer hands up and we'll see it's passed on, not noticed it myself.

Thanks for that Chameleon,I think I know now whats happened. I deleted browsing history, perhaps thats the reason? It seems to be OK now. Sorry to disrupt the thread with my problem.

Well, no good having a thread if you can't use it mate I think we have a note bout this in the technical forum but, these things crop up anywhere and need looking at. Hopefully you've helped a few others too.
