Plenty on news coverage recently about the low life who steal items left out for legitimate charities.Charity Bag Thefts- Two Men ArrestedFriday 8 October 2010Police in North East Leeds have arrested two men in relation to the theft of charity bags across Leeds. The arrests were made yesterday after a white Ford Escort van was stopped on Wetherby Road in the Roundhay area of Leeds following a hit on a nearby ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera.Police recovered sixteen bin bags of donated clothes from the vehicle, including gift aid declarations made out to the British Heart Foundation. The two men, aged 29 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of theft and have been released on police bail. The Ford Escort vehicle has been seized for forensic examination.Yesterday's arrests follow seven that were made in August by Roundhay Alwoodley and Moortown Neighbourhood Policing Team.Inspector Andrew Briggs, who leads the Roundhay, Alwoodley and Moortown Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), urged residents to remain vigilant to this type of crime"If you have any suspicions about people or vehicles seen in your local area when charity bags have been left for collection please make a note of any vehicle registration plate and contact your local NPT."We are working hard to stamp out this type of offence that preys on the generosity of people to help others"We will continue to target those committing these crimes through increased patrols and stop checks on suspect vehicles but information from local people remains vital with crimes of this type, " added Inspector Briggs.Anyone with information is asked to contact police on: 0845 60 60 606 and ask to speak to their local neighbourhood policing team.West Yorkshire Police WebsiteA recent Essex Police Interceptor program on TV showed a similar van pulled over by police - packed with labelled charity bags."Easter European" couple were arrested, the van van was seized,no taxinsurance and =surprise surprise they were bailed and have never been seen since.

Well, i don't suppose they are much worse that the fat cats who run these charities and only give 15% by the time it gets to the people who are in need of the funds might get 2% So what's the point. If you know any one in need give it direct don't give cash buy the product they need and cut the Fat cats out and all them so called expenses. If they cared that much they would give there time for free not get paid a big wage for it. Wake up guys charities are one big money making scam.

I saw a police program on tv this week part of it was about two low lifes stealing bags of clothes,It said they can get eight hundred pounds a ton for them so there is big money to be made by scum like them.
