I always thought the Oakwood McDonalds had a very Art Deco feel to it..and also the chip shop on Roundhay Road opposite the park

Anybody any idea why the "Ring Road Bramley" is to be found around the Coal Road - Wetherby Road area more or less as as far from Bramley as you can get on the Ring Rd. ? It's a mess up by one of the mapping companies who provide data to lots of other people - I e-mailed them about it years ago, but didn't get the courtesy of a reply.I do like that house near Wetherby Road though - am I right in thinking you could buy these houses at the Ideal Home Exhibition of the time (or something similar)?

There's also an Art-Deco/'British Moderne' house in Guiseley, on the junction of Hawksworth Lane & Hillway.I've got the write-up for it somewhere from when it was on sale years ago(still got the one for 'The White House' in Ilkley too)

NiceI'd love an 'Art-Deco' house, but the conundrum is... - Do you retain the features inside (if it has any left??)/restore it to how it should be - Or... furnish/fit it out as per a modern house??The best compromise I've seen was that episode of 'Grand Designs', where the 2 Airline pilots had a 'new' Art-Deco' house built!Quite wonderful it was too!http://www.channel4.com/4homes/on-tv/gr ... 1.htmlThat said, I'd still love to be in a position to buy 'The White House' at Ilkley, but it's WAY out of our price range, seeing as it appears to be on sale again!!!http://www.dacres.co.uk/property-detail ... 080560.PDF(was £895,000 in April 2003)

It seems the selling agent may be copying the YEP in not proof reading things. I noticed that Ilkley is "set amongst gloriokus countryside". For such an expensive property you would have thought Dacre Son and Hartley would check things properly!

So do I. New Inn at Gildersome is a good example. an excellent example,a shining light, fired by Sam Smiths Brewery Pale Ale!!

I'm an editor/proofreader, and I think we're the most undervalued profession there is (although I suppose I might be a bit biased)! No-one thinks they need us, yet we're constantly surrounded by evidence that they do!
