[quotenick="raveydaveyAh well, I shall have to find summat else to listen to as I drive home if that person is to be broadcasting then. I'm confident that you're not on your own there raveydavey - I can't stand the man at all - I believe somebody on here described him as "self obsessed" - the understatement of the Century !!

Well, I certainly never thought I'd consider saying "Come back Andrew and Georgey all is forgiven" but after this morning I almost feel like it. Mr. Kelner and his partner have reached the heights of arrogance and lack of experience or research while "interviewing" a Leeds councillor about the decision to impose "not under 50" restrictions on the lettings policy for a block of flats at West Park. The prattling pair continuously rudely lambasted him about "discrimination" and made sarcastic jibes about the Council thinking that people were drug taking anti social louts until they were 49 and then became pipe and slippers saints at 50. Its a fair bet that Mr. Kelner and Katherine have never tried to get a peaceful evening or a night's sleep while feckless louts partied loudly and strewed unmentionable rubbish everywhere and burgled and intimidated decent folks.I have suffered all this first hand years ago when Grayson Heights at Kirkstall rapidly changed rom a lovely peaceful block full of great people into a crime ridden and filthy dump. I was "lucky" enough to escape on medical grounds. That particular block was eventually sold by the Council and is now privately owned student accommodation.Every quarter of an hour we have also to put up with David James and his undicipherable "trendy" traffic reports - traffic reports that is after he's finished "acting the goat" with the other two.I appreciate, as I've said before, that folks might say "Well you know where the on/off switch is" - that's a very reasonable and valid point but I like the local news and, along with many others, I admit to a certain amount of amusement at the smug self satisfied "own trumpet blowing" throughout the Station's broadcasts. These observations are not confinesd to Radio Leeds either - most local stations have a fair amount of tripe by would be "personalities" - nobody's suggesting "Bring back Lord Reith" - oh I don't know though !!

I truly despair at what has become of BBC Radio Leeds. I am a big fan of Martin Kelner but I think he was the wrong choice for breakfast. As for his co host, the only question she seems capable of asking during interviews is "what do you make of that then ?" Is it too much to ask that they employ some decent broadcast journalists? I really wish the station would return to how it was in the mid 1990s when it was a well respected News Talk radio station - almost like a local newspaper of the airwaves.

I used to like Peter Levy particularly, and his banter with a young and upcoming Paul Hudson was genuinely funny and totally harmless.

Something else where they are all driving us mad with repetition as if we're thick "or you can text me 81333 and START YOUR MESSAGE WITH LEEDS." The amateur religious Richard Staples just "lost it" altogether this morning and sometimes repeated it three or four times in a sentence.Tomorrow at 3.00pm Andrew Edwards returns to "get you home" for three hours. Already we've had to listen to his "blowing his own trumpet" trailer assuring us of "THE BEST sport, news, travel, music" etc.

Alot of news programmes use them - charging YOU to give them news or opinions they can use! There'll always be someone willing to part with their cash for the privilage though - maybe they don't really check their bills
