Or I might be getting him mixed up with Sam Wood. Durr, confused meself now. Edit: or was Fresh Air from Swillington? It was Fresh Air from Shadwell . He had a bee in his bonnet about smoking on buses .

Saw her again today pacing about in doctors n receptionist said that she doesn't think anyone looks after the woman n that she often wanders in n out of there. Anyone here know anything about her?

Poor old lass lives on hall lane in a small home for (trying to think of the correct phrase so as not to upset anyone) mentally ill (pheww, did it)She usually goes in to the sports centre and drops shed loads of money in the drinks machines. I had a right go at the staff who kept letting her waste all her money on drinks she never drinks. They just shrugged their shoulders and said "it's her choice" ????????? After all they will probably get a % of the money put in those machines as revenue? I got the manager out and gave him a reet mouthfull about the attitude of staff and their willingness to let it be. He agreed with me, at least to my face and kindly stopped the lady from wasting anymore money. Poor cow, such a shame people are willing to take advantage of people like this!

Re: 'Cider Paul' - we always knew him as 'Webbo' after seeing him in 'Central Park' one night back in the 80s. He went up to the bar and asked for four pints of Websters. By the time the girl behind the bar was pulling the third pint, he'd already downed the first two, so she refused to serve him any more.I see the 'Stud Man' around the outdoor market quite often, usually on Thursdays when you get the best junk and antique stalls.

Hi Carrotol,The lady you are asking about can be seen many a Saturday night ,and late on, every Tuesday night in the Denison club, on Town St.Though she hardly utters a word, she's never no bother. And everybody just accepts she's there. I believe she lives in the multistorey flats behind the club. She just sips her lemonade and minds her own business. She just likes the feel of people around her.
