It is only the recent past that it was there but I've already forgotton when that pay to use toilet was put in place and removed. It did not last long as it was at such a potentially embarrassing spot that it got very little (if any!) use.

I remeber its brief existance but can't find anything in the YEP where I know it was featured (no surprise there maybe!) or anything on LEODIS.

I recall seeing it getting cleaned several times but I never saw anyone going in or coming out of the toilet. Not the most convenient convenience!

Didn't they take it out as it was costing more money to keep that it was making? I seem to remember something on Look North about it?

They did - mind you, the canny folk of Leeds knew there were free toilets in the Schofields Centre less than a two minute walk away, so it was never going to make much money whilst the shops were open. And I'm fairly certain that Lewis's / Alders was still open back then, where you could also spend a penny free gratis and the loos in the St Johns Centre were also probably still free back in the days of the Super-loo as well. So, like much else in life, it was simply a matter of supply and demand.
