Help with Maps please

Seem to remember recently someone posted a link to what all the little icon things on maps meant,e.g. wm War Memorial.Have searched the site(not an easy task)to no avail.Can the original poster please show the link again ?

The link was posted by Cardiarms and is on page three of the Mystery Tower thread, near the bottom of the page. As I'm a computer numpty I'm afraid I'm not up to transferring it here!

Thanks for that Gents - have seen a wm an a 1906map.Will post when I've done the footwork.

The difficulty with these is the number of duplicated meanings for the same abbreviation. My favourite is "TH" - either Town Hall or tool house. My missus says she can see the connection.

I think Tasa (where'd she go?) posted a link for map abbreviations on page 3 of the Rodley Tomb Stone thread a while back.

Hi Si -crossed messages again. War Memorials are "War Meml" - "wm" is a weighing machine ( and probably several other things, I haven't the heart to look! )

I thought you meant windmill actually,although you are correct wm is weighing machine on some inner city maps.
