After last night's 'performance' and seeing various pundits' opinions, is it just me or does Capello's management style look just like Cloughy in The Damned United?????Just a thought!

To be honest with what i've seen so far, I think this is probably one of the biggest lets down of a World cup yet. Does anyone think the special World cup fever we usually have is missing? Yeah sure a few flags are flying, but there doesn't seem to be any prematch build up, excitement, the atmosphere in all the games has been lousy. Not one team have played decent, or had a good game. It's 'Fail cup' 2010 so far!

Try telling that to the fans of S.Korea,N.Korea,Serbia,Switzerland,Ivory Coast and Algeria. This World cup is wide open and the underdogs are making a mockery of the so called Experts predictions. These teams don't have the quality of the big guns but one thing they do have above all else is Pride & Passion certainly more so than our Highly paid prima donnas.

The problem is that no matter who is in charge they always pick the same old players that have let us down time after time. Why not put four or five premier league players into the team and build the rest with solid workmen like players from league one ? Ok they may not be as skillful as the top stars but they would make up for it by being hard working and at least put in a shift unlike the pampered big girls blouses that we have to endure each tournament. Look at how the Irish used to qualify for world cups and Euro's with players that would struggle to get into any of the top sides in Europe but they had an unwaivering belief in the cause and were not there just for the photo shoots or endorsements like our bunch of arrogant over paid wasters are. Rooney could not trap a bag of cement on current form yet he is still played from the start of every game !!! Let him sit on the bench and maybe bring him on for the last twenty mins or so, it could be the boot up the backside that he needs to bring him out of his malaise. It is obviouse that these guys only play well when in a team surrounded by the best foreigners that money can buy and without those imports at their sides to help them shine they fade into almost obscurity. Too many of this crowd believe their own hype and are so often shown up for what they really are.Regards.

If that is the case then he should not be in the side, at the world cup you need eleven injury free men on the pitch ( I was going to say eleven fit men but it just doesn't sound right) so what kind of message does that give to other players who are awaiting their chance to play only to be denied because Rooney is a 'star' ? No man should be bigger than the team but it seems Capello has fallen into the same old trap that has been the downfall of many before him.Regards.

I saw a St.Georges flag outside a house this morning. It said "Pride, Enthusiasm, Belief" on it I thought about altering it to read "Shame, Apathy, Disbelief" Given David James's response to questions yesterday on Today, I'd guess that there's a problem in the England camp.

Good point here!Non of the so called expected 'big guns of the football world' are playing well, they can't seem to gel as a unit at all.The only guys to shine are the smaller nations i.e Algeria who aren't phased at all. I wonder if it's a bigger problem worldwide as Hats off Suggests. There's too many foreign, highly payed Prima Donnas playing at league level throughout the world, the team works as a club side unit then, but strip all the imports away, as a nation they can't string a pass together. The whole world cup has been very poor so far I.M.O!!
