I'm back - we were outside all day laying sod - we finally stopped at 9:30 tonight because it was too dark to see. Fortunately we've got a crew coming tomorrow to do the bulk of it as we've got 10,000 square feet coming tomorrow and it really needs to be done within about 24 hours of it being cut, so we had one pallet here today and just stepped up and started pulling it off the trailer and putting in a little cart and taking it to where we needed it and started slapping it down. So I will now go and look at the photos and know I will marvel at them. I do have a Flickr account so should be able to get to them. I've been tracking Jane down and have found her as a widow, with her sister and some kids living with her and she and the sister are listed as Charwomen. I think I found her in the 1841 census with a husband named Thomas - so that's giving me more to go on. I had ordered some Poll Books from the early 1800s that came in the mail today, but since I was out smacking down the dirt, I couldn't even sneak off to look at them, but am going to do that now.
